From November 12th to 15th, Dean Pu Xujin of our College, along with a selected delegation, visited the Netherlands at the invitation of Eindhoven University of Technology, Tilburg University, and Jheronimus Academy of Data Science. This visit aimed to strengthen ties and promote deep cooperation in various academic and research areas.
On November 13th, the delegation started their visit at Eindhoven University of Technology. They met with Dean Geert-Jan van Houtum of the School of Engineering Management, along with Laurent Nelissen, the Director of International Affairs, Marleen van Heusden, the Program Manager of International Exchange Programs, and other faculty members. The discussions focused on the achievements of previous online communications and explored future collaboration opportunities in faculty and student exchanges, research cooperation, and joint academic ventures.
In the afternoon, the delegation proceeded to the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science in 's-Hertogenbosch, Wuxi's sister city. Discussions with Academy leader Alex Vossen and faculty centered on collaborative opportunities in big data management and agricultural supply chain operations.
On November 14th, the visit continued at Tilburg University, where Dean Pu Xujin and his delegation engaged in a fruitful dialogue with Marike Knoef, Dean of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM), and other prominent members of the university. The conversation revolved around shared interests in economics and management education, talent cultivation, and scientific research. TiSEM, a globally recognized institution, expressed its eagerness to explore diverse cooperation modes with Jiangnan University's Business School.
The visit concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the School of Engineering Management at Eindhoven University of Technology, the School of Economics and Management of Tilburg University, and the Business School of Jiangnan University. This agreement marks a significant step towards enhanced academic and research collaboration, promising a bright future for international cooperation between these esteemed institutions.
