On the morning of November 10, 2023, Professor Michaela Rankin, Associate Dean of International Affairs, along with Mr. Charles David Elliott, Senior Student Services Officer, and Ms. Tracy De Silva, Senior Coordinator of Global Programs and Partnerships, from Monash University Business School visited our university. They were welcomed by Professor Du Guocheng, Vice President of Jiangnan University, the staff of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the School of Business .
During the meeting, Vice President Du expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended to our university delegation during their visit to Monash University in August. He briefly introduced the basic information of our university and the development of its preponderant disciplines. Vice President Du also reviewed the achievements made by Jiangnan and Monash since the implementation of the Jiangnan University-Monash University Business Management 3 + 1 Project in 2012. He highlighted that our university's Sino-foreign cooperative program in business administration received approval from the Jiangsu Province Department of Education in 2020 and was rated as a "High-level Demonstrative Construction Project for Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education in Jiangsu Universities." He emphasized the importance of maintaining close communication and contact between the two partner universities, strengthening the cooperative relationship, expanding collaboration, and achieving a higher level of partnership.
Professor Rankin expressed great pleasure in visiting Jiangnan University again and thanked the university for its warm hospitality. She acknowledged the achievements of the cooperative education program in business administration at our university and expressed a strong willingness to cooperate sincerely with Jiangnan University. She hoped to expand areas of collaboration and create a promising future together.
The Business School also reported on the achievements of the cooperative 3+1 program with Monash University and its ten-year development. The program has gained recognition from students and parents for its distinctive efforts in international talent cultivation. It has produced excellent graduates who possess specialized business skills and an international perspective, contributing to society and the country. In recent years, many graduates of the program have chosen to pursue further studies abroad, while others have returned to China and made significant contributions in various fields.
During their visit, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the intention to further expand cooperation in professional fields and initiate research collaboration. They reached a unanimous agreement to make thorough preparations for future collaborative endeavors.
After the meeting, Professor Rankin and her delegation conducted presentations to the Class of 2022 and 2021 students enrolled in the Sino-Foreign Cooperation Program in Business Administration. They provided detailed information about the cooperative education program between Monash University and Jiangnan University, as well as the requirements for studying abroad. They also answered the students' questions comprehensively.
